What to Expect Taking Dance Lessons for Your Wedding

Happy New Year! Can you believe it is already 2017? If you are getting married this year then you are probably hard at work planning the perfect day. If so, have you considered how you will look on the dance floor?

Wedding First Dance

We hear it all the time… “I just don’t want to look bad dancing in front of all my guests”. You are not alone! However, there is no reason to be nervous or overwhelmed, instead, we want you to enjoy this exciting time. Let us help you!

To start, we will give you a realistic idea of what to expect when taking dance lessons for your wedding…

The most important thing to remember is that novice dancers are always welcome. Especially at Ballroom in Boston! Our Motto is, “If you can walk, you can dance”. If you have absolutely no experience at all, that’s okay, come on in and let us teach you the basics!

Our lessons are private and they last up to 45 minutes. You can schedule them any day of the week from 10AM to 9PM.

Most dance studios offer a basic package that includes five lessons and we do too! However, like any other skill you try to develop, practice makes perfect and the more lessons you take the better and more comfortable you will be.

If you are hoping to feel truly comfortable on the dance floor then you will want to take anywhere from 3 to 6 months of lessons. If you want to look REALLY fantastic then 6 to 12 months of lessons are in order.

Regardless of the number of lessons you chose to take, we recommend that you schedule your classes close together. Otherwise, you will likely spend most of your 45 minute class refreshing your memory instead of learning new techniques.

The good news is the lessons are FUN! Most couples find our dance classes to be an escape away from the stress of wedding planning. After all, it’s a great opportunity to enjoy some precious time together before your big day.

So, what are you waiting for? Put on some comfortable clothes, pick a song and start dancing!
